SeaBEAN is the first work of fiction ever to be produced with a heat-sensitive colour-changing cover!
When children’s author JACQUELINE WILSON read it, she said:
“SeaBEAN is a different way of introducing children to environmental issues…the thermochromic covers are a great idea.”
So how do the covers work?
Using thermochromic leuco dyes on top of a traditionally printed image, the top layer of ink is able to change from black to transparent when it reaches a certain temperature.
The thermochromic covers for the trilogy were created by LCR Hallcrest.
